Donald Ray Richard Simpkins

Donald Ray Richard Simpkins, Seminole, OK resident passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home at the age of 68. Donald was born on January 17, 1956 in Seminole, OK to L. C. Simpkins and Bessie May (Phillips) Simpkins. He and the love of his life, Cora Denise Simpkins, raised four children together. 

Donald loved spending time with his grandchildren especially cooking big meals for them. He would take them to McDonalds and the park and treat them with candy. He enjoyed taking them for a ride in his truck. Donald loved to be around his family. He took joy in working on houses, cars and anything you can think of. 

Donald is survived by his love, Cora Simpkins; son and daughter-in-law, Demond and Laquita Drennon of Shawnee, OK; daughters, Jeni Drennon of Shawnee, OK, Bridgett Drennon and Delvin Gaines of Norman, OK and Destiny Drennon of Seminole, OK; eighteen grandchildren; two brothers, Tyrone “Terry” Simpkins of Oklahoma City and L. C. Simpkins Jr. of Oklahoma City; sisters, Sherry Simpkins of Maryland and Shirley Simpkins of Kansas City; sister-in-law, Cindy Simpkins of Seminole, OK and many other family and friends.  

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, L. C. and Bessie May Simpkins and siblings, Sylvia Simpkins, James Simpkins, Henry Simpkins, Millered Simpkins, Robert Simpkins, Sam Simpkins and Nathaniel Simpkins. 

Honorary casket bearers will be Carlos English, Doug Burris, Bob Burris, Sammie Simpkins, Johnathon Simpkins and Phil Edwards. 

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK with Rev. Bobby Curry officiating. Cremation will follow. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
