Donald Leroy Posey, 85 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Seminole. Donald was born on February 20, 1933 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to LeRoy Posey and Madge (Jones) Posey. Donald was a high school graduate and was the owner of a paint and body shop and auto salvage yard. Donald served his country in the United States Army. He was an ordained minister for 60 years in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a member of MAPS, enjoyed traveling and collecting antique toys. Donald married Christine Greenfield on June 18, 1955 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Donald is survived by his son; Don Posey and his wife Ginger of Konawa, Oklahoma and his daughter; Nancy Horn and her husband Jack of Seminole, Oklahoma, his sister; Patsy McGehee and her husband Jerry of Seminole, Oklahoma and grandchildren; Zack Horn, Claire Posey and Race Posey and great-grandchild; Hadley Horn. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother Judd Posey. Funeral services for Donald will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Arpoika Daniels officiating assisted by Bishop Randall Drake. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Bill Misenheimer, Jeff Misenheimer, Mike Grant, Fred Nichols, Paul Greenfield and Zack Horn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Donald be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma.
