Donald Lee "Don" Linn

Donald "Don" Lee Linn of Gainesville, Texas passed from this life on September 3, 2018, at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Betty Mae and Luther Linn. After graduating from Bowlegs High School in 1953, Don married his sweetheart, Shirley Neoma Anders, on May 25, 1955 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. Together they raised two daughters, Deanna and Barbara, and 1 son, Jerry Don. Don’s greatest passion in his life was his love for our Lord and Savior. He was a member of Victory House of Praise church where he enjoyed doing missionary work with the elderly. He has touched countless lives with his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate heart. Don has always been passionate about all things sports and outdoors. He was an excellent softball player and bowler with both hands. Don was a pool shark and could not be beat on the ping pong table. He was also untouchable playing dominos because he always knew what everyone had in their hand. He really loved to fish especially with his wife, sons and grandsons, and his best friend Kenneth Byrd. Don, being an avid sports fan, watched the Texas Rangers every night, the Dallas Cowboys every Sunday, and the Sooners on Saturdays. Don is preceded in death by his brothers Floyd Linn, Jack Linn, and his son Jerry Don “J.D.” Linn. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Linn, of the home; his daughters Deanna King and husband Rob of Oak Point, Texas and Barbara Enlow and husband Sammy of Thackerville, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many cherished friends. He also leaves behind his greatly beloved dog, Yoda. Family Visitation will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home, 1001 N. Milt Phillips Ave., in Seminole, Oklahoma on Thursday, September 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Jones and Eugene Adair officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Casket Bearers will be: Josh Linn, Aaron Spicer, Sean Scofield, Sammy Enlow, Randy Stafford, Jason Conn, Jerry Linn, Daniel Linn, Jax Sterling, Wyatt Linn and Waylon Linn.
