Donald Leon Keener, 81, Van Buren, Arkansas resident died Monday, July 29, 2013 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Donald was born February 20, 1932 in Slowford, Arkansas to Oswell and Rosie (Garner) Keener. Donald was the Head Station Manager for Central Airlines in Ada, Oklahoma. Later as the station manager for Frontier Airlines, at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He retired in 1986 after 33 years in the Airline Industry. Donald served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was discharged in 1954. Donald married Verla Mae Gosa,a former Seminole, Oklahoma resident, on October 7, 1954, and she survives him. Donald is survived by his wife, Verla Keener, of Van Buren, Arkansas, two sons; Danny Keener of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Mackey Ray Keener of Blanchard, Oklahoma and a daughter, Connie K. Porter of Van Buren, Arkansas. He is also survived by three brothers, Gilroy Keener of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Jim Keener of Florida, John Keener of Houston, Texas and a sister, Daisy Mae Keener, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, along with three grandchildren and one great granddaughter and one great grandson. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Little Cemetery with Rev. Bill Embrey officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
