Jessie "Don" Roberts, 77 year old, Saint Louis, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home.  Don was born June 1, 1936 in Stigler, Oklahoma to parents Jim Bob Roberts and Opal Georgia (Bonds) Roberts. Don married Anna Sue Ford on November 12, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following high school, Don went on to earn his associate degree.  Don was very active in his community.  He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association, Shawnee Home Builders Association, Red Cross, Oklahoma Indian Housing Association, Dale School Board of Education, Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma, Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority, National Association of Home Builders, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky on October 15, 2013. Don retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas where he worked from 1956 until 1991.  He also owned and operated Wing-N-On Cattle Company from 1960 until his death in 2014. Don and his wife Anna Sue have been members of St. Louis First Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include, his wife of 58 years Anna Sue (Ford) Roberts of the home; two sons, Bradley K. Roberts and his wife Angela of Konawa, Oklahoma; Jeffrey D. Roberts and his wife Laurel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Margaret A. Mocabee and her husband Willie of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Reinee Roberts of Chandler, Oklahoma (widow of Michael Roberts); one brother, Bob Roberts of Fairfield, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Jessie Roberts of Newport, Tennessee (widow of Billie Roberts); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Ruth Ford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cecil and Mae Ford of Inola, Oklahoma, Dorothy and Doyle Reading of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mary Lou and Henry Hensley of Kinta, Oklahoma, Margaret and Larry Johnson of Stigler, Oklahoma, Shirley and Richard Berry of Bonita Springs, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael D. Roberts, and by one brother, Billie Roberts. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, January 21, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Louis First Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Peck officiating the service. Casket Bearers will be: Bradley K. Roberts, Jeffrey D. Roberts, Willie C. Mocabee, Evan W. Wells, Jimmie L. Roberts and Michael W. Roberts. Honorary Bearers will be: Noah Roberts, Oscar Casey, Dr. Joe Taron, L.D. Wortham, Carl Packwood, Wayne Coffee, Larry Latimer, Steve Nail, Ken Fullbright, and Elmo Phipps. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. The family request donations be sent to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Foundation, Att: Chad Pope, 325 N. Broadway, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801, in memory of Don Roberts.
