Donald Wayne ?Mutt,? ?Don,? ?Pa,? Montgomery, 66-year-old lifelong area resident passed from this life Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was born March 6, 1942 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to parents N.O. Montgomery and Violet O. (Houtz) Montgomery.rnrnDon graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1960 where he played football and baseball making all conference and state in football. He was also a proud member of the Tecumseh Alumni. Following High School he was offered a sports scholarship but declined so he could serve in the United States National Guard.rnrnThrough out the years Don had worked at Fred Jones Auto in Oklahoma City and at Tinker Field Air Force Base. However, he enjoyed his latest job, working as an oilfield pumper in the Saint Louis, Maud and Asher area. He had a great time with the people he had the opportunity to know in the oilfield. His other interest included his love for the farm life and his love of animals from horses to puppies.rnrnDon is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Maleea and her husband TyRay Brock and Matonna and her husband Mark Haynes all of Maud, Oklahoma; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Maxine and her husband Charles Brooks, Helen Montgomery and Irma Montgomery all of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Otho and his wife Patsy Montgomery of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and Marion and his wife Nina Montgomery of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Emral Layn Haynes, Matraya Erralee Haynes and TyLee Fern Brock all of Maud, Oklahoma; one aunt, Emma and her husband Bill Adler of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and dear friends.rnrnDon is preceded in death by his parents, N.O. and Violet Montgomery; one brother, Cecil Montgomery; three sisters, Evelyn Gamble, Roberta Cotton and Cora Mae Strehlow.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.
