Dickie Gerald Robertson, longtime Konawa area resident, passed from this earth on Thursday, August 16, 2007 in Konawa at the age of 62.rnrnHe was born on July 13, 1945 in Konawa. He was the youngest of nine children born to Alfred Wesley Robertson and Nettie Lee (Goss) Robertson.rnrnDickie attended Summers Chapel Elementary in Konawa and graduated from Vamoosa High School. He later attended East Central University in Ada.rnrnWhile in high school, Dickie began working in the oilfield with his father and brothers. While attending East Central University, he drove a tank truck. rnrnDickie married Nelletta Kay (Bailes) on January 28, 1967 and they had two children, Richard Elliott and Kristal Kathleen.rnrnDickie moved to Lubbock, TX and began working in the insurance industry. He was an agent for Allstate Insurance Company and earned the honor of "million dollar" sales person. rnDue to illness, Dickie retired from the insurance business in 1984 and moved back to Konawa in 1989.rnrnDickie loved people and talked to anyone that would listen.rnHe was of the Baptist faith.rnrnHe was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kristal Robertson and one brother, Herman Robertson.rnrnHe is survived by son, Elliott Robertson of Norman;rnthree brothers, Alfred "Nug" Robertson, Jr. and Arnold Robertson, both of Konawa and Keith Robertson of Okemah; rnfour sisters, Willa Dean Wall of Harrah, Billie Collins of Shawnee, LaQuita Huckleberry and Jerry Lemmings, both of Konawa. rnrnFuneral services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Mitch Williams officiating. rnServing as casket bearers will be family members.rnBurial will folllow at Vamoosa Cemetery.rnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.rnrn Funeral Information: August 19, 2007, 10:30 AM
