Diana Kay Armstrong, 68, longtime Seminole resident died Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Diana was born on December 7, 1943 to Bill and Bernice (Sears) Johnson in Richmond, California. Diana was a L.P.N. nurse and she had worked at Seminole Municipal Hospital, Dr. Brendan O’Keffee, M.D. and several area nursing homes before retiring in December of 2011. Diana was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma where she enjoyed making trips with the Singles Group going to Branson, Nashville and taking cruises. Her love was her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed crocheting. Diana married Vernon Newton Armstrong, Sr. on April 2, 1965 in Midland, Texas. They moved to Seminole in 1967 to raise their three children. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2005. Diana is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws Bryan and Angela Armstrong and David and Christy Armstrong of Seminole, Oklahoma and a daughter and son-in-law Susan and William Adcock, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma, one sister MaryLynn Harmon of Texas and eight grandchildren; Heather Adcock, Megan Adcock, Billy Adcock, Wyatt Armstrong, Luke Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong, Jennifer Armstrong, Joshua Armstrong. And a close friend Robert Stewart of Wewoka, Oklahoma She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon a sister Janie Johnson and a brother Joe Dell Johnson. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday January 25, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Allen Wood and Bill Adcock will officiate at the services with burial at Little Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
