Dewey Faulkner

Dewey Lee Faulkner was born June 5, 1930 at home in Harjo , Oklahoma to Dewey Jewel and Vera Inez (Pratt) Faulkner. Dewey left this world on August 24, 2012 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 26 days in Tecumseh , Oklahoma. Dewey married Mabel Marie Cooley on April 30, 1948 in Dalhart, Texas. Dewey is survived by his wife of 64 years Mabel Faulkner of the home, three children, Danny Faulkner and wife Melissa of Hooker, Oklahoma , Vera Hale and husband Don of Eufaula, Oklahoma , and Teresa Storts and husband Jim of Knoxville, Tennessee. Dewey is survived by one sister Virginia Faye (Faulkner) Giffith and Husband Bob of Seminole, Oklahoma. Dewey is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, Dana Faulkner of Gruver, Texas, Allyssa Gutirrez of Guymon, Oklahoma, Jonathon Daniel, Joshua David, and James Andrew Faulkner all of Hooker, Oklahoma, Donnie Hale of Maud, Oklahoma and Tina Hale and daughter Amanda Smith of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jason Storts, Tammy Lopez, and Tonya Toth all of Knoxville, Tennessee.  Dewey is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Dewey worked for 15 years in the oil field around the Maud area. He then opened and operated “Deweys Service Station” for 18 years in Maud. After closing the station Dewey and Mabel went to work for Wal-Mart stores running the film route delivering film to the stores throughout Oklahoma for 12 years, Dewey also did the upkeep and servicing of the vehicles for all of the Oklahoma routes.  He was also a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomie Nation of Oklahoma. Dewey also leaves behind many other relatives, old coon hunting buddies, and friends. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma with Pastor Dan Kasper officiating. Honorary bearers will be: Buck Buchanan, Terry Palmer, Paul Lucy, Barry O’Daniel, Jack O’Daniel and Steve O’Daniel. The family requests that donations be made to the Church of God building fund at P.O. Box 190 Maud, Oklahoma 74854.
