DeWanda June Edgell

Seminole resident, DeWanda June Edgell, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Seminole.

DeWanda, the daughter of Marcus Marion and Clara Jane (McKinster) Edgell, was born June 3, 1930, in Seminole. DeWanda graduated from Seminole High School, and then went to work as a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and singing, but her favorite pastime was taking care of children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, Jo Anne Cooper, May Agnus Longan, Jessie Maxine Leachman, Iola Faye Brown, Harold Charles Edgell, Carl James Edgell, Daryl Wayne Edgell, Peggy Jerhea Irwin, and Carolyn Dale Hopper. DeWanda is survived by her sister, Marketta Barnum along with many other family members and friends.

Casket bearers will be Mark Edgell, Walter Edgell, Jerry Jack Edgell, Bobby Edgell, Carl James Edgell, Patrick Owens, Steve Bennett.

Viewing will be from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2024, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

The funeral service for DeWanda will be Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
