Deloris Jean (Dodson) Earnest

Deloris Jean (Dodson) Earnest, age 79, passed away August 28, 2020 at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born June 19, 1941 in Okemah, Oklahoma to parents William H. (Bill) Dodson and Norma Jean (Mullins) Dodson. She grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma and she was a high school graduate and attended business college. She married Melton Earnest on May 2, 1986 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Sadly, he passed away April 6, 2007.

Deloris worked as a clerk for the Department of Human Services for 32 years. She attended Bowlegs Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Deloris is survived by her son; Jackey Sibley of Washington, daughters; Cindy Fleming and her husband Gary, Beth Earnest and Joyce Goodman and her husband Mike all of Seminole, Oklahoma, sister; Phyllis Elmore and her husband Loren of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Bill and Jean Dodson, husband; Melton Earnest and grandson; Connor Turner.

A Celebration of Life service for Deloris will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
