Delores Yvonne (Homesley) Franklin

Delores Yvonne (Homesley) Franklin was born on December 14, 1947 to Dean Vincent Lincoln Homesley and Almeta Faye (Youngblood) Kelley in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.  Sadly, she passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Naperville, Illinois. Before leaving Oklahoma, she attended Pleasant Grove and Lincoln Elementary Schools.  In October of 1956, Yvonne, along with her mother and two sisters moved to Joliet, Illinois.  After moving to Illinois, she was enrolled in several elementary schools: Fairmont, McKinley Park, and Eliza Kelly.  She attended and graduated from Washington Junior High and Joliet Central High School (1965).  After graduation, Yvonne was employed by Joliet Junior College, Personal Products and Caterpillar Tractor Co.  After 30 years at Caterpillar, she elected to retire. At a young age, Yvonne accepted Christ by joining Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and was baptized by the late Rev. J.W. Hill.  She was a member of the Junior Choir, No. 2 Choir, the Angelic Choir and later the Voices of Zion. Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Dean Vincent Lincoln Homesley; stepfather, Ester Kelley; brothers, Randy Lee Youngblood, William and Evell Kelly; sister, Delories Kelly White, and dear cousin, Mae Antionette Homesley. She leaves to mourn her mother; Almeta Kelley of Seminole, OK; a maternal aunt, Evelyn Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, James Harold (Carolyn) Kelly of Detroit, MI; three sisters, Sandra (Ronald) Mayweather of Plainfield, IL, V. Kaye (Dearborn) Edwards of Seminole, OK and June Homesley of Oklahoma City, OK.  She also leaves numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other loved ones that includes; Ina Mae Cruse of Chicago and Gladys Moffett of Atlanta. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.  She will be laid to rest near other family members at the Earlsboro Cemetery, Earlsboro, OK, just miles from her birthplace.
