Dean Huskins

Hershel “Dean” Huskins, 49 year old, Shawnee and former Seminole resident passed from this life on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home.  He was born May 20, 1961 in Bakersfield, California to parents Hershel D. Huskins and Jessie “Faye” (Jackson) Huskins. He moved to this area from Fremont, California 31 years ago.  He was a Senior Operator for the past 26 years with Exxon Mobil.  Dean married Melanie Armitage on April 9, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  They are members of the Highway Baptist Church north of Seminole. Survivors include his wife, Melanie (Armitage) Huskins of the home; his mother, Jessie “Faye” Huskins of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brandon Huskins of Seminole and Joshua and his wife Samantha Gorum of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two daughters, April Huskins and Kylie Huskins both of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one brother, Dale Huskins of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and her husband Charles Allen of Canton, Ohio and Amber Hardin and her husband Dave Garrison of Eufaula, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leesa and her husband Ray Sandlin of Macomb, Oklahoma; one grandson, Bricen Huskins of Shawnee, Oklahoma; father-in-law, Wade Armitage of Meeker, Oklahoma and a number of nieces, nephews and a host of other family and dear friends. His father Hershel Huskins preceded Dean in death in 2007. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Highway Baptist Church located nine miles north of Seminole on Hwy. 99.  Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Brandon Huskins, Chad Huskins, Chris Huskins, Nic Hardin, Nathan Hardin and Mike Martin. Honorary Bearers will be: Robert Allen and Nolan Hardin. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
