Deairl Myrick, 82 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home. He was born February 3, 1935 in Graham, Oklahoma to parents Geneva Ethel (Brown) Myrick and John Russell Myrick. Deairl graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1954. He continued his education at Murry State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, until 1956, Deairl went on to serve in the United States Air Force. While in the U.S. Air Force he served four years, in the 815th Aircraft Support Squadron where he earned the Good Conduct Medal. On May 29, 1957 Deairl married Annette Stubbs in Ada, Oklahoma. Deairl went on to further his education at, Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma earning his bachelor’s degree in 1966. He then went on to earn his, Master’s degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma in 1972. Deairl taught school and coached sports at Cripple Creek, Colorado, Wewoka, Oklahoma, Bowlegs, Oklahoma and at Holdenville, Oklahoma. As an educator Deairl touched many young lives as both a, biology instructor and coach, coaching most any sport from basketball to track. Deairl leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 60 years, Annette (Stubbs) Myrick of the home; two daughters, Beth Myrick of Seminole, Oklahoma and Monica Pack and her husband Dale of Norman, Oklahoma; one brother, Eugene Myrick of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 6 sisters-in-law, Carla Streeter of Seminole, Oklahoma, Eva Black of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Johnnie Collins of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mary Cullison of Seminole, Oklahoma, Nita Myrick of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Nell Myrick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers-in-law, J.N. Stubbs of Denison, Texas, George Stubbs of Colbert, Oklahoma and Hilton Stubbs of Ardmore, Oklahoma; one uncle, Doyle Brown of Mustang, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Courtney Pack, Paige Pack and Kendra Myrick-Stubbs; and a host of other family and dear friends. Deairl was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Ethel (Brown) Myrick and John Russell Myrick, by two brothers, Elmer Myrick and Johnny Myrick. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Beach and by one son-in-law, Robert Stubbs. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Seminole First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Nick Atiya officiating the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Charlie Myrick, Gary Beach, Larry Beach, Jason Brinker, Kevin Brinker and Don Willingham. Honorary Bearers will be: Danny Brown, Scott Brown and Tim Brown. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
