David Neal Walker, 57 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born November 24, 1959 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to parents Christine Gibson and Houston Wood. David attended both Vamoosa and Bowlegs public school systems. He had worked in housekeeping and maintenance at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Correctional Center (COJC) in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Seminole Hospital in Seminole, Oklahoma. He had also worked as a derrick hand for several oil companies. David married Johnna Harrison, the mother of his children, he later married Ellen White. David enjoyed working on cars and he was quite the handyman fixing or installing an appliance or fixture. Most of all he enjoyed being around family, friends and grandkids. He loved going to their functions and just being with them. David is survived by one son, Jonathan Walker and his wife Danni of Norman, Oklahoma; two daughters, Charity Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kesha Walker of Taft, Oklahoma; four brothers, Dean Walker of Konawa, Oklahoma, Terry Walker of Seminole, Oklahoma, Ronnie “R.B.” Burgess and his wife Denea of Seminole, Oklahoma, Sterlin “Buddy” Wood of Wewoka, Oklahoma; three sisters, Carol Cathey of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Kay Lehman and her husband Tommy of Asher, Oklahoma, Gina Lankford and her husband Frank of Seminole, Oklahoma; one uncle, Marc Gibson of Okemah, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Mariah Walker of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Gabriel and Vincent Walker of El Reno, Oklahoma, Zaccheus and Jordyn Walker of Norman, Oklahoma, Peyton, Josiah and Trey Hunter of Konawa, Oklahoma, Chesape, Lynn & Ezekiel Solano of Konawa, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and friends. David was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Gibson; by his father, Houston Wood; by his step-father, Jonas Burgess; by his Uncles Richmond, Roman and Amon Harjo and by Uncles Jack and Tony Gibson; by his aunts, Dorsett Pickens and Cynthia Cooper; by his grandmother, Maude Wood and by his son-in-law, Miguel Solano. David will be taken to his home at 320 C Street in Seminole on Monday. The body will then be taken to High Spring Indian Baptist Church in Konawa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 for a wake service that evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at High Spring Indian Baptist Church in Konawa with Derek Phillips officiating the service. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery in Seminole County. Casket Bearers will be: Steve Robertson, Butch Conley, Terry Wise, Matthew Foster, Trace Walker and Nick Burgess. Honorary Bearers will be: Gabriel Walker, Vincent Walker, Peyton Hunter, Dean White, Frank Lankford and Jimmy Lankford.
