David Russell Walker

David Russell Walker was born May 9, 1954 in Modesto, California. He passed away February 20, 2019 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. David was raised by his grandparents Dave and Ruth Walker. David lived most of his life in Seminole, Oklahoma. He attended high school at Bowlegs, Oklahoma and graduated in 1972. He was on the football team and was #55. Retired David spent his career in the Oklahoma oilfield. He was a driller for Jerry Scott Drilling Company. He was a member of Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church and was baptized by Major Hawkins on September 6, 1965. David was an enrolled member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, the Tusekia Harjo Band and Wind Clan. David had one child, a son, Cory Dale Walker, whom he adored and he survives him. David is also survived by his former wife and mother of their son, Debbie (Coble) Robertson, his sister; Janet Dockery Strayhorn, brother; Dewayne Peters, cousins; Cynthia Yerby, Christi Mae Woodard and Anthony Harjo, uncle; Alfred Lee Walker, aunt; Imogene Walker, nephews; Mickey Dockery, Jr., Brian Dave Dockery and niece; Natasha Dockery-Parks and special friend, Rick Strayhorn. His cousin, Glen Harjo, preceded him in death. David has a host of other family members and friends and he loved all of them. Services for David will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Officiating clergymen will be Wayne Bailey, Jimmy Anderson, Steve Holata, George Franks and Dorsey Nero. Music will be provided by the Middle Creek #2 church singers. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Mickey Dockery, Jr., David Stafford, Jr., Jimmy Deatherage, Jr., Merax Dockery, Rick Strayhorn and Curtis Brummley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Coker, Gary Stafford, Dewayne Peters, Alfred Walker and Brian Dockery.
