David Alan Phillips, 62, former Seminole resident, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in The Woodlands, Texas, where he lived for several years. David was born on November 6, 1951 in Durant, Oklahoma to Dorothy Louise (Moore) and Glenn Dillard Phillips. David grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma. He attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1970, he also graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Speech. David was a huge OU sports fan and loved to ride his Harley with his friends. David worked in the Electric Wire Line industry and was in sales for most of his working career. David was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. His parents Glenn and Dottie Phillips, owned and operated the Dairy Queen for many years. David is survived by his mother Dorothy Louise “Dottie “ Rammage of The Woodland, Texas and his sister Anita Dommert and her husband Greg of Dinwiddie, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him very much. David was preceded in death by his father Glenn Dillard Phillips on March 24, 1979 and by a sister, Glenda Lane Bateman. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 20, 2014 at the First Baptist Church at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma. Matt Pollock will officiate at the service and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be John Dommert, Greg Dommert, Paul Yerby, Frank Capps, Roger Presley and Deats Stewart. Honorary bearers will be Billy Chappell and Chris Dommert. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
