David Lindsay Green

David Lindsay Green , age 78 and a resident of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away at his home August 20, 2023.

A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate, and casket bearers are Tom Ledgerwood, Ross Mize, Dexter Postoak, Abraham Davis, Pat Brown, and Scott Story.  Viewing will begin Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

David was born November 13, 1944 in Maud, Oklahoma to Virgil Green and Inez (Harper) Green.  He attended school in Konawa and received a G.E.D.  He served in the Army as an expert rifleman and sharpshooter from August 1963 until August, 1966.  He worked as a derrick hand for several local oil and gas companies.  David loved to attend auctions, and he was an avid gun and knife collector.  He was also a “Trump Supporter” all the way.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Green and husband, Martin of Sasakwa; two sons, David Shane Green and wife, Kathy of Vamoosa, and Marty Wayne Green of Konawa; three sisters, Sandra Langston and husband, Richard of Pensacola, Florida, Marilyn Norman and husband, Richard of Konawa, and Carolyn Eberle and husband, Teddy of Konawa; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Green.
