David Houck

David Eugene Houck, Sr., lifelong Seminole resident, entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was 62 years old. David was born in Seminole on August 23, 1949 to Marie Robertson and Sylvester Franklin Houck. On December 9, 1976 David married Carolyn Ross in Seminole, Oklahoma. For many years David worked in the oilfields as a pulling unit operator. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn; 3 sons, David E. Houck, Jr. of Seminole, Darin Lee Wheeler and Merion Keith Wheeler, both of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, LaDonna Wheeler of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and Sarah White of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Millie Castle of Seminole, Oklahoma and Phyllis Casteel of Eufaula, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. His parents, 2 brothers, 1 nephew and 2 grandchildren preceded him in death. David will be laid to rest at a graveside service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Jimmy and Anita Moreland will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Houck, Jr., Tommy Kean, Cody Hasbell, Keith Wheeler, Merion Wheeler and Stoney Kelough; Honorary Bearers will be Darin Wheeler, Bo Kean and E.B. Simon.
