David Bussey

July 1, 1951 — June 30, 2017

Lloyd “David” Bussey, age 65, a devoted husband and father, and longtime resident of Seminole, Oklahoma passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at AllianceHeath Hospital in Seminole. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Reverend Carl Whitfield will officiate and the burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jason Bussey, Colten King, Brendan King, Mike Bussey, David Franklin, and Brian King. David was born July 1, 1951 in Maud, Oklahoma to William Franklin Bussey and Anna Lucile (Works) Bussey. When he was 19, he married Judith “Judy” Gayle Quinalty in Ada, Oklahoma on November 9, 1970 and moved to Seminole. During this time, David worked for Maxwell Engine until 1976 when he began his lifelong career of 40 years in the Oilfield. During his last years in the oilfield, David worked as the Company Man for KAL Drilling, leading and overseeing the entire drilling process from start to finish. In 2013, David launched and ran his own successful business, “Bussey Drilling Consultant” until he retired in 2016.  It was rare to see David without his Yorkie, Bailey right by his side as he enjoyed his hobbies. David loved collecting and shooting guns, working in his shop in his backyard, welding, building and fixing things, reading his bible, and riding his Harley, but most of all he cherished taking care of his family. David is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Judy Bussey of the home; one son, Jason Bussey of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Davonna Bussey of Allen, Texas; one brother, Mike Bussey and wife, Nancy of Maud, Oklahoma; two sisters, Erma Taft of Maud, Oklahoma, and Sandy King and husband Freddy King of Ada, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Colten King PFC of Fort Drum, New York, and Brendan King of Allen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy and Gene Bussey, and one sister, Nora Cain. Funeral Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
