Darlene Goss

Darlene Goss, 76 year old, longtime Seminole and Pottawatomie County resident, passed from this life Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  She was born December 9, 1936 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to parents Elmer Lawson and Golda (Williamson) Lawson. Darlene graduated from Chickasha High School and went on to further her education at the Oklahoma College For Women.  Darlene was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Chickasha. On June 19, 1955 Darlene married Kay D. Goss in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Darlene was a long-time resident of Maud, Oklahoma where she attended St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school.  She was also a member of the Delphian Study Club and was a member of the Maud Historical Society. In 2003 Darlene moved to Shawnee where she was currently a resident. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David Allen Goss and his wife Angelia Goss of Norman, Oklahoma, Steven Michael "Steve" Goss and his wife Terrie Goss of Maud, Oklahoma, four grandsons, Joseph Blake Goss of Norman, Oklahoma, Zachery Allen Goss of Norman, Oklahoma, Justin Michael Goss and his wife Andrea Goss of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Cody Allen Goss of Maud, Oklahoma.  Her former husband and the father of her children, Kay D. Goss of Maud, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and dear friends also survive Darlene. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Golda Lawson, one brother, Harold Lawson, and by one son, Van H. Goss. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
