Danny Ray Jackson

Danny Ray Jackson, Earlsboro, Oklahoma resident, passed away July 1, 2023, at the age of 67 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born December 3, 1955, in Oklahoma City to Marcell Jackson and Ethel Lee (Dindy) Jackson. He grew up in Oklahoma City and Wewoka and was a high school graduate.

Danny was retired from Atlas Paving Company where he had worked as a street paver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and cooking BBQ.

Danny is survived by his high school sweetheart, Veronica Benard of the home in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, his son; Danny Shelton and his wife Feona of Missouri, Hope (Benard) Jackson of the home in Earlsboro,  brothers; Mark Jackson of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Marcell Jackson and wife Jamma of Missouri, sisters; Cynthia LaCour and her husband Alford, Janet Jackson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Chaquita Overstreet and her husband Benny, of Norman, Oklahoma and Cassandra Fabre of Norman, Oklahoma and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Brandy Jackson, his son Steven Ray Jackson, his sisters; Audrey Patricia Dean, Margaret Jackson, Jacquelyn Helm and brother, Floyd Jackson.

Viewing for Danny will be from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Kimberly Colter officiating. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Casket bearers will be Blake Jackson, Mark Jackson, Terry Edwards, Keon Griffis, Teron Edwards, Erick Williams, Bryan Williams and Larry Williams. Honorary bearers will be Joe Brooks, Charles Swaeny, John Permetter, Tony Talton, Dusty Nelms and Clarence Benard, Jr.

Arrangements are under the directions of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
