Dannie Lee Ervin

Dannie Lee Ervin, age 83, passed away May 12, 2020 at his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born April 16, 1937 in Checotah, Oklahoma to parents William Leo Ervin and Gloria Frances (Day) Akins. He grew up in the Hanna/Eufaula area. He married Vila Roland on July 23, 1960 in Hanna, Oklahoma. They moved to Wewoka, Oklahoma and raised their family there. After retirement they moved to Eufaula Lake and recently relocated to Shawnee to be near family.

Dannie served his country in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Airman First Class. He served during the Korean War. He was the owner/operator of Ervin Electric until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, OU sports, NASCAR, old westerns on television and St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball.

Surviving Dannie is his wife of almost 60 years; Vila Ervin, four sons; Mike Ervin and wife Johnna of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Keith Ervin and wife Susan of Lamar, Oklahoma, Brent Ervin of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Mark Ervin and wife Lori of Seminole, Oklahoma, sister; Alice Mitchell of Stillwater, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Mica Hays and her husband Travis of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jon-Michael Ervin and his wife Rachel of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Trey Ervin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Grayson Ervin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Carlee Cross and her husband Jon of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Courtney Walton of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Candace Ervin of Lamar, Oklahoma and Ramos, Julian and Christopher Freer all of Seminole, Oklahoma and great grandchildren; Cason and Pierce Hays, Vaughn Ervin, Austin Gore, Easton and Addy Smith and Lily Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
