Dallva “Curtis” Lemons, Sr., age 75 and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Norman Veterans Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Asher Church of Christ under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Asher. Jim Kelly will officiate. The Military Honors Team will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is Monday through Wednesday until 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Curtis was born on February 22, 1937 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Dallva Chester Lemons and Bonnie Marie (Rhone) Lemons. He married Linda Watkins on December 12, 1956 in Independence, Missouri, and he was a member of the Church of Christ in Asher. Curtis graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, and he worked as Project Engineer for the Nuclear Test Site in Las Vegas, Nevada. He retired as Captain with the Air Force. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda (Watkins) Lemons of the home; his mother, Bonnie Lemons of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; two sons, Brian Lemons of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Christopher Lemons of Asher; one daughter, Laurie Thomas of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters, Eva Stolz of Norman, Oklahoma, Laqueta Barstow of St. Louis, Missouri, Bonita Ball of Denver, Colorado, and Renee Adams of Little Rock, Arkansas; and five grandchildren.
