Dale Lee Keesee, Shawnee resident, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 in Sulphur at the age of 89. Dale was born on March 30, 1936 in Wewoka, OK to Paul and Ruby (Lasiter) Keesee. Dale married Carol Smith on July 12, 1958 in Wewoka, OK.
Dale was an avid OU and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved his morning coffee and doing yardwork outside often visiting with his neighbor and friend Harold. Dale was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He was a devoted dad and grandfather and loved to visit and tell stories. Dale would do anything for anyone who needed his help. He was a very considerate father-in-law to Dorothea and would make breakfast for her in the mornings and blessed her as a kind father figure. He was always ready to go to after church lunches with his family.
Dale is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dorothea Keesee of Shawnee, OK; grandson and spouse, Colter and Kirby Keesee of Davis, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Elaine Keesee of Norman, OK; great grandchild, Rowyn Keesee and many other family and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Keesee; parents, Paul and Ruby Keesee; brothers, Buddy Keesee, Junior Keesee, Robert Keesee and Bill Kessee.
Those serving as casket bearers will be Colter Keesee, Michael Vincent, Joel Vincent, Chad Macalvain, Brandon Smith and Roger Davidson. Honorary casket bearers will be Ronnie Keesee and James Keesee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at New Life Church located at 1231 E. 10th St., Shawnee, OK 74801. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Charles Sutton will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
