Cynthia Anna Gunter, 92, longtime Seminole resident died, Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Mrs. Gunter was born August 17, 1916 in Pope County, Arkansas, to Henry and Hattie (Payne) Harris. Mrs. Gunter moved to Earlsboro with her family in November of 1938 and later to Seminole where she lived and raised her three sons. Mrs. Gunter was employed at Seminole Municipal Hospital for over 28 years as a nurse’s aide. She was also a longtime member of the First Church of God in Seminole. Her husband, Virgil Gunter in 1946, preceded her in death. Three sons and daughter-in-law, Herb and Liz Gunter of Seminole, Herman Gunter and Lester Gunter, both of Seminole, survive her. Two brothers, George Harris of Columbia, Louisiana and Fay Harris of Woodward, Oklahoma. Two grandchildren: Sonia and Tom Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma and Carrie and Kyle Nault of Deer Park, Texas. Four great-grandchildren Colby and Katie Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kyla and P.T. Nault of Deer Park, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Tom Newell officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Seminole, County, Oklahoma.
