Curtis Wayne Harjo

Curtis Wayne " Bonnie"  Harjo, 42, longtime Bowlegs, Oklahoma resident died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Wewoka Care Center in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Curtis was born January 21, 1971 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Mary Jane ( Carbitcher) and Johnson Harjo. Curtis was an asbestos removal contractor working in demolition and construction industry. Curtis is survived by two daughters Nina Harjo and Sydney Harjo both of the Varnum Community and one son Austin “Cvto” Harjo of the Varnum Community.; two brothers Raymond Harjo of Prague, Oklahoma and Darrin Harjo of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; three sisters Phyllis Harjo of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Yolanda Harrison of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Linda Underwood of Shawnee, Oklahoma. His parents, one sister Debra Emarthle, two brothers Vincent Harjo and Christopher Daniels, preceded him in death. Funeral services will held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, southwest of Wewoka, Oklahoma with Rev. Houston Tiger and Jimpsey Harjo officiating. Burial will follow at the Harjo family cemetery near Bowlegs, Oklahoma. Mr. Harjo's body will be taken to the family home Tuesday evening to the family home in Bowlegs, Oklahoma for visitation. Wake services will be held Wednesday evening, January 1, 2014 at Sand Creek Eufaula Church. Casket bearers will be Russell Lowe, Steve Fixico, Terry Wise, Timmy Narcomey, Russell Roberts and Eric Thlocco. Honorary bearers will be Michael Hill, Sam Wahweah, his nephews, Thomas Gentry and Kendall Roberts. Funeral Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
