Cornelius Gene Cedartree, Sr., 60 Cornelius Gene Cedartree, Sr., Seminole county resident passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 60. Cornelius was born in February 24, 1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Edward Cedartree and Katherine (Yarbough) Gibson Cedartree. Being of the Baptist faith he was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Cornelius served in the United States Army and after his enlistment he worked in construction as a welder. Cornelius helped build the Cox Center in Oklahoma City. Cornelius is survived by his mother Katherine Gibson of Konawa, Oklahoma, two sons; Cornelius Cedartree, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma, Josh Cedartree of Wewoka, Oklahoma, six brothers; Edward Cedartree, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Glenn Gibson of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Colt Gibson of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tommy Gibson, Anthony Gibson and Scott Gibson all of Konawa, Oklahoma, three sisters; Ellen Ward of Prague, Oklahoma, Marsha Gibson and Tonette George both of Konawa, Oklahoma and four grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Cornelius was preceded in death by his father, one son, Baby Boy Cedartree, two sisters, Toni Lynn Gibson and Bridget Ellis and nephew Tyler "Gooey" Hicks. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Ed George officiating. Burial will take place at Vamoosa Cemetery, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Edward Cedartree, Jr., Glenn Gibson, Tommy Gibson, Anthony Gibson, Scott Gibson, Frank Ward,Norman Island, Jr., Stoney Island and James Motley.
