Cora Mae Pollard, 70, longtime Seminole resident passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Cora was born on July 28, 1944 in Henderson, Texas to Dorothy Virginia (Branscum) and Don Dan Gregg, Sr. Cora attended schools in Elmore City, Oklahoma and graduated from Elmore City High School in 1962 and attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma . She was the cafeteria manager at Paden Schools 14 years and later at Red Oak Schools for several years. She was also a homemaker and pastor’s wife. Cora moved to Seminole thirteen years ago from Davenport, Oklahoma. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. She loved to Quilt, and was very good at knitting and all kinds of hand crafting. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, her cows and other farm animals at her farm. Cora married Gary Pollard on March 26, 1964 in Ada, Oklahoma and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Cora is survived by her husband Gary Pollard of Seminole, Oklahoma, three sons David Pollard and his wife Robin of Prague, Oklahoma, Kevin Pollard and his wife Amy of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Greg Pollard and his wife Misty of Prague, Oklahoma, her brother Don Gregg of Wichita Falls, Texas , three sisters Louise Rankin of Davis, Oklahoma, Irene Davenport of Wilson, Oklahoma and Mary Bivins of Purcell, Oklahoma. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Katie Jones and her husband Preston, Ethan Pollard, Daniel Pollard, Delanie Pollard, Mackenzie Pollard, Gestin Pollard and one great grandchild, Peyton Jones and a host of other family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Virginia (Branscum) and Don Dan Gregg, Sr., one daughter, Tammy Darlene Pollard and a granddaughter, Hannah Pollard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the New Life Assembly of God Church at 48303 East Highway # 3, Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Her brother-in-law and two sons , Dale Pollard, Greg Pollard and David Pollard will officiate at the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the Stephenson Cancer Center at the OU Medical Center at 800 NE 10th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in Cora’s name.
