Connie Marie Hughes, 67, longtime Seminole resident died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home in Seminole. Connie was born August 31, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Paul Lee and Zelda Marie (Smith) Mize. Connie was homemaker and a secretary for her husband’s business; Steve Hughes Construction. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Connie enjoyed being on her boat “ The Connie Marie” at Lake Eufaula and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed riding wave runners with her girl friends and occasionally she liked to go the casino. Connie was also a graduate of Seminole High School. Connie married Steve Hughes on August 23, 1974 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Connie is survived by her loving husband Steve Hughes of the home in Seminole; two sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Penny Claborn and Steven and Tracy Claborn both of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Steve’s daughter Angela Hodges of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four brothers Wade Mize, Danny Mize, Gary Mize and Timmy Mize all of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Derek Claborn, Drew Claborn, Dillon Claborn, Madison Claborn and Katie Hodges. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma with Mark Hennen officiating at the service.
