Clinton Leon Sullinger

December 9, 1935 — January 30, 2025

Seminole

Clinton Leon Sullinger, born on December 9, 1935, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who dedicated his life to his family, hard work, and the land he loved.

In 1963, Clint and his wife, Joyce Earles Sullinger, moved to Bowlegs, Oklahoma, where they built a home and a life together. Married for 63 years, their love and dedication to each other were unwavering. Together, they raised two children, Ricky Sullinger and Theresa Sullinger. Clint was a proud grandfather to Brenna Pierce and Melissa Sullinger and a loving great-grandfather to his little buddy, Theron Pierce.

Clint began his career working in the oilfield before transitioning to a long and dedicated career with the City of Seminole. Outside of work, he found his true passion in farming and raising cattle. He believed in the value of hard work and made sure to pass that lesson on to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dora Sullinger; his beloved daughter, Theresa Sullinger; and his siblings, Bernice Cross, Opal Northcott, Lucille Raines, Evelyn Woodard, Dorothy Everett, and Robert Sullinger.

Clint is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Sullinger; his son, Ricky, and his wife, Judy; his granddaughters, Brenna and her husband, Robert Pierce, and Melissa Sullinger; his great-grandson, Theron Pierce, who brought him endless joy; and Tandi Atyia Thomas, whom he considered another daughter.

A man of strength, integrity, and love for his family, Clint will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His legacy of hard work and devotion will live on in those he leaves behind.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Fent officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
