Clinton "Chick" Palmer

Clinton Lee “Chick” Palmer, 85 year old Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was born December 18, 1931 in Punkin Center, Oklahoma (near Maud, Oklahoma) to parents Jesse Lee Palmer and Mary Jane (Robertson) Palmer. Chick graduated from Maud High School in 1951.  On August 27th, 1954 Chick married the love of his life Rhea Vonnesylle “Bobbie” Sanders in Pearson, Oklahoma. Chick had worked in the oilfields, he had also worked as a Double Cola route salesman for several years before becoming self-employed. Chick and his wife Bobbie Palmer are members of the Avoca Church of Christ in Asher, Oklahoma.  Chick enjoyed gardening, working on cars, tractors and lawn mowers.  He was truly a family man who always enjoyed being with his family. Chick leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Bobbie (Sanders) Palmer of the home; four sons, Rickey Palmer and his wife Barbara of Security, Colorado, Greg Palmer and his wife Kim of Royse City, Texas, Mark Palmer and his wife Lori of Checotah, Oklahoma; Kirk Palmer and his wife Sonya of Moore, Oklahoma; one sister Laverne Swarb and her husband Kenneth of Monahans, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Chick was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Lee Palmer and Mary Jane (Robertson) Palmer, by one sister, Shirley Laster and by three brothers, R.C. Palmer, T-Boy Palmer and J.P. Palmer. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at Avoca Church of Christ in Asher, Oklahoma with J.R. Smith officiating the service assisted by Chase Palmer.  Interment will follow at Tecumseh Mission Cemetery in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Jason Palmer, Chase Palmer, Michael Palmer, Derek Palmer, Devin Palmer and Terry Palmer. Honorary Bearers will be: Wayne Palmer, Travis Palmer, Randy Palmer, Kevin Gober, Nate Ware and Jeremy Gayer.
