Clinton Bud Adams, longtime Seminole resident, departed this life, Saturday February 20, 2010 at the age of 90. Bud was born on January 17, 1920 in Paden, Oklahoma to Lewis and Mary (Ballard) Adams. Bud joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was a World War II veteran. He married Wanda Casey Ross on July 25, 1954 in Prague, Oklahoma. He worked in construction, was an officer in the Prague Police Department in the 1950’s and retired from Western Electric. Bud loved vacationing in Arkansas with Wanda and catfishing with James and Carlene. His wife of 55 years, Wanda, of the home, two sons and a daughter-in-law R.C. and Jeannie Adams of Vian, Oklahoma; William F. “Buddy” Ross of Prague, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law Verna and Sam Fipps of Paden, Oklahoma survive Bud. Fourteen grandchildren, Craig Fipps, Kirk Fipps, Keith Fipps, Sandra Wellman, Teresa Adams, Bobbie Jo Adams, Clinton Bud Adams, Keith Ross, Amanda Ross, Lorie Pierce, Dusty Ross, Toby Ross, Rebecca Ross, William F. Ross, III; 32 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other family, friends and his special friend and provider, Billie Odor. His great grandson Robbie, and his special niece Penny Ballard who took great care of Bud, both went above and beyond what was needed. Their love, care and compassion for Bud made it possible for him to remain at home during his last days, Bud was dearly loved and will be tremendously missed. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifton Adams and Carney Adams; One sister, Martha McCready, one son Freddie Ross; and one granddaughter, Trisha Kay Taylor. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Paden, Oklahoma with Jim Eaststep and Scott Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers are Craig Fipps, Keith Fipps, Kirk Fipps, Keith Ross, Dusty Ross, Toby Ross and Robbie Ross. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
