Clint Leroy “ Sonny “ Yancey, 75, longtime Seminole resident went to be with his heavenly father, Monday, December 25, 2017 in Seminole, Oklahoma, Jesus received a wonderful birthday present on this day. Clint was born September 15, 1942 to Lillie (Ross) and Lon Yancey in Seminole. He married the love of his life, Linda Lashley on September 20, 1960, they were married 57 years. Clint worked in the oilfield in his early years as a welder for Compton Machine Shop and for Wolff Machine Shop for 33 years, until his retirement. He loved to fish and hunt until his health no longer allowed. He enjoyed sitting outside and reading his bible. He was big on family, and spent every occasion together with his family. He would even “invent” an occasion so family would come over. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Whitney, play basketball and softball, never missing a game. He loved doing things at the church and serving his Lord. His favorite saying whether good times or bad, was “Always have faith in the Lord”. He always told his grandson Kent Lee “Remember Jesus loves you and so do we”, before he left the house. . Clint had two families, his home family and church family and a wealth of friends. He loved them all. He always had a smile for everyone, enjoyed visiting the nursing home and sharing with the residents there about Jesus and to anyone who would listen. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Bowlegs, Oklahoma. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife Linda Yancey of the home, two sons, Gary Yancey of Seminole, Oklahoma, Larry Yancey of Texas, three daughters; Karen Krause of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Annette Azlin of Idabel, Oklahoma and Jeanette Patterson and her husband Terry of Georgia, his  grandchildren Wendy Hamilton and her husband Keith, Kent Lee Azlin, Whitney Krause, Taylor Patterson, Tyler Patterson, great grandson Hunter Hamilton, step grandchildren, Brandy and Chris and his wife Hannah, step great-grandchildren Haley, Cadey, Blake, Dallas, Logan, Gage, his sister Mary Allen and her husband Wayne of Wewoka, Oklahoma, brother Carl “Bo” Yancey of Seminole, Oklahoma, Bob Yancey of Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Howard Yancey, Vernon Yancey and Don Yancey, four sisters; Patricia Yancey, Katherine Kay, Helen Earles and Juanita Frazier and one son-in-law, Mike Krause. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs, Oklahoma with Rev. Andy Quinton.  The funeral will conclude at the church and he will be buried at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dean Debter, Rodney Troglin, Rick Leahy, Bill Hart, Jimmy Dixon and Arnie Jones. Honorary bearers will be Virgil Hullet, David Raper, Bill Scott and Mark Hillier. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral Information: December 30, 2017, 11:00 AM
