Clint M. Evans, 80 year-old, longtime Seminole County resident passed from this life Friday, October 23, 2009 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born March 27, 1929 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Onie Evans and Eunice Marie (Fallin) Evans. Clint served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant. He also earned his Masters Degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Clint worked as C.E.O. for General Grocers, later he taught at Westland College for several years before going to work for Fleming Foods and later IGA. He also held different offices in the Meat Cutters Union. Clint was an official referee for the N.F.L.. Locally Clint is a former member of the Seminole Elks Lodge. Clint married T.A. (Corzine) “Tece” Evans on July 7, 1990 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She survives him of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Clint, Rick and Bob Evans; three daughters and a son-in-law, Doveoshia and her husband Scott Crane of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Junialee Thornburg of Purcell, Oklahoma and Tina Thornburg of Louisiana; four grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Clint is preceded in death by his father, Onie Evans; his mother, Eunice Marie (Fallin) Evans-Haifley; step-father, Homer Dale “Sparky” Haifley; and by one brother, O’Neil Evans. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Hill Top Baptist Church on Hwy. 59 between Seminole and Wewoka. Rev. Hershel Davis, Rev. Tim Wolf and Rev. Russell Ryker will officiate the service. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Scott Crane, Gary Crane, Chad Nickham, Tim Wolf, Joseph Davis and Hershel Davis. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
