Clifton “Clift” Otho Babb, 85 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on July 26, 2018 in Seminole. Clifton was born on February 19, 1933 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to parents, Otha Ramond Babb and Lynnie Lee Cariker. Clift served his country in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Clift married Naomi Caffey on July 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2016. After the completion of his military service, he was the manager/barber of all the barber shops at Fort Polk in Louisiana and Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Clift developed several manufacturing businesses over the years in Seminole. He employed local youth in the seventies with his rubber mat business. He manufactured horse trailer mats and windows and also sold tools in the eighties and in the nineties he manufactured pickup accessories. For the last 13 years, he was known as the “sticker man in the white van”. He worked every day until he was 83 years old. Clift enjoyed watching OU football, classic movies, the History Channel and the news. His favorite saying was “Give me a cup of coffee and a cigarette and I am good to go”. Clift is survived by sons; Greg Babb and his wife Judy of Seminole, Oklahoma and Steven Babb of Lawton, Oklahoma, sister; Arleen Harris of Clinton, Oklahoma, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi and great-grandchild Mykol Babb of Seminole, Oklahoma. Viewing for Clift will be Monday, July 30, 2018 from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home. Funeral services for Clift will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Troy Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, east of Seminole. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
