Clifford Lee Barnett, 69 year old lifelong Seminole County, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma.  He was born October 28, 1949 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to his biological mother, Madeline (Harjo) Harrison and he was raised by Babe and Josie (Stout) Harjo. Clifford graduated from Sasakwa High School in Sasakwa, Oklahoma in May of 1970. Clifford married Mary Sue (Ben) Barnett in Antlers, Oklahoma. Clifford worked for Flex-N-Gate in Ada, Oklahoma until his retirement.  He then started working as a security guard for several different venues including concerts and Riverwind Casino. Clifford was a member of Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.  He loved to sing and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  You could always find Clifford cheering on his favorite teams the OU Sooners and the Pittsburg Steelers. Survivors include his wife Mary Sue Barnett of the home; one daughter Melanie Barnett and her husband Leon Bolden of Opelousas, Louisiana; by brothers and sisters, Winn Harjo of Ada, Oklahoma, Betty McGilbert of Shiprock, New Mexico, Shirley Clayton of Ada, Oklahoma, Janie Newby of Konawa, Oklahoma, Laquita Jumper of Big Cypress Seminole Reservation, Florida, Clarice Larney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Georgina Gooden of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Geneva Gooden of Calvin, Oklahoma, Rhoda Harrison of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Roderick Harrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jolene Gooden of Witchita, Kansas, Samuel Ray Barnett of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larry Barnett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Alexander Barnett of Konawa, Oklahoma, Eddie Barnett of Konawa, Oklahoma, Benna Kay Roanhorse of Window Rock, Arizona, Johnnie Barnett of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Theresa Barnett Holman of Norman, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Megan Waddle, Nora Barnett, Mychal Barnett, Alexis Barnett and Leon Bolden “LJ” Bolden Jr.; 2 great grandchildren, Jamison Waddle, Brazelynn Bovard; and a host of other family and dear friends. Clifford was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Martha Billy, by one son Vince Barnett, and by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. A wake service is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2019 at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma with Bro. Kellos Walker and Bro. Frank Moppin officiating the service.  Interment will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Richard Harjo Jr., Casey Barnett, Robert Jay Taylor, Thom Hulbutta, Roy Larney Jr. and Isreal Camp. Honorary Bearers will be: Leonard Harper, Leonard Monroe, Winn Harjo, Roderick Harrison, Roy Larney Sr., Nickolas Bovard, Moses Jumper Jr., Barnett Brothers, Leon Bolden, 3rd floor nurses at the Chickasaw Medical Center and the Sasakwa Hornets Softball Team.
