Claude “ Junior “ Rogers, 79, Seminole resident, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Junior was born September 20, 1934 in Paden, Oklahoma to Ella Mae (Mills) and Claude Rogers. Junior moved to Seminole, nine years ago, from Bakersfield, California where he had lived for over 35 years. While in Bakersfield he worked at Valley Detroit Diesel Company as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years. Junior attended the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Seminole and Coney Island Tabernacle East of Bowlegs, Oklahoma for several years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing and loved to help people. Junior is remembered as a marvelous husband and an excellent father who loved his children and grandchildren. Junior is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Virginia (Turner) Rogers of the home in Seminole, his daughters Connie Raya and her husband Phil of Tracey, California, Michelle Diaz and her husband Larry of Bakersfield, California, Ashley Rogers of Weldon, California, Debra Beeler and her husband Robbie of Bakersfield, California, Rhonda Sertic and her husband Ryan of Weldon, California and a son Mike Boyt of Mountain Home, Arkansas, along with one sister May Belle Foster of Greenwood, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 A.M., Friday February 14, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Wayne McCray, Bruce Benson and Jess Powers officiating. The family would like to thank the Angelic Family Hospice in Shawnee, Oklahoma for all the care and help they gave Junior.
