Claude Cornelison

April 26, 1927 — December 31, 2008

Longtime Seminole resident Claude Cornelison, 81, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Seminole Medical Center. Mr. Cornelison was born April 27, 1927 in Panhandle, Texas to Hugh and Mae (Tunin) Cornelison. After his birth the family moved to California and at the age of 6 the family moved to Seminole. Claude attended Seminole schools and graduated in 1946 from Seminole High School and attended one year at the University of Oklahoma. rnrnClaude was co-owner of Cornelison Engine for many years until it closed in 1988. The oilfield maintenance company had been in business since the early 1930's. He was very active at his church and was the chairman of the building committee and trustees during the time of the building of the new First United Methodist Church. rnrnClaude married Lola (Nease) Bronnenberg on March 17, 1984, at the First United Methodist Church in Bowlegs after the death of his first wife Pat. rnrnHe is survived by his loving wife Lola Cornelison of the home. He is also survived by children, Mike and Deborah Cornelison of Ada, Oklahoma, Mark Cornelison of Checotah, Oklahoma, Stephen and Elaine Bronnenberg of Ada, Oklahoma, Nancy and Larry Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma and Sharon and John Gamble of Seminole, Oklahoma. His grandchilden; Eric Cornelsion of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jacob Seber of West Virginia, Michelle Cornelison of Connecticut, J.D. and Andrea Johnson of Seminole, Shelley and Eric Daniel of Seminole, Josh Bronnenberg, Jackie and Robbie Lee and Jessica and Kevin Martinez all of Ada, Oklahoma. Emily and Aaron Bledsoe and Sara Langford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jana Bronneberg of Norman. Thirteen Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.rnrnHe was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat Cornelison, his parents, two brothers, Harvey and Red Cornelison, sister, Jean Parsons and his daughter Susan Cornelison King.rnrnMemorial Services are planned for Monday, January 5, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole with Rev. Gary Wilburn and David Karges officiating.rnrnMemorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church building fund, 910 West Wrangler Blvd. Seminole Oklahoma 74868.
