Claretta Norman went on to Heaven November 25th, 2013. She was born January 1st, 1919 in Holdenville, OK, the oldest of 12 children born to Shird and Pearl Merriman. At 94 years old, just a few months before her death she was still working in her garden and shelling pecans. She lived a life of service to her family and all the generations she touched will miss her love, care and wonderful food. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny Norman, daughter Barbra and son Lonnie, and by her sisters Dorothy Johnson, Veda Norman and Evelyn Elliott and brothers Arlen, Carlee and Wayne Merriman. She is survived by her sisters Mildred Lancaster of Sasakwa, Elvie Phillips of Seminole, and brothers Gene Merriman of Nevada and Dean Merriman of California. She is also survived by her 3 sons, Charles & Cathie Norman of Shawnee, R.C. Norman of Konawa, Nolan & Livia Norman of Shawnee, Daughter-in-law Anita Norman of Shawnee, her 7 grandchildren, Eilene & Tony Plaza, Mark & Luann Norman, Cheri & Jeff Dailey, Dustin & Nikki Norman, Jennifer Norman & John Hagar, John McDowell and Ashley & Zack Cornwall and her 7 great-grandchildren Rylee Dailey, Shelby Norman, Kynlee Dailey, Johnathan Plaza, Waylon Fawcett, Braden Norman and John Henry Hagar. Services will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole on Friday November 29th, 2013 at 10 AM. Internment at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka to follow.
