Christopher Blu “ Ironside” Kemp, age 30, died Friday, November 6, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Christopher was born February 27, 1979 to Arnoeld Gene Kemp and Reujena (Winrow) Kemp, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at Shawnee Regional Hospital. He was reared in Shawnee and attended Shawnee and Tecumseh Public schools. He was an avid “ All-Star” athlete, excelling in all sports. However, he had a passion for football, the “strongest” youth quarterback in Shawnee little league, the “ Sooners”. His strong leadership abilities were exemplified on the basketball court, as a point guard, and carried over into his adult life, as an Independent Representative for Pre-Paid Legal and an Entrepreneur with “ Blu Aromatix”. He was very proud of his “ Kemp “ heritage and never hesitated to state: “ I’m a Kemp!”At the eve of his teenage years he was physically challenged, becoming paralyzed. Blu used this adversity as inner strength, remaining positive, always having a smile that would melt your heart. Family meant a lot to Blu, especially his nieces and nephews. He was very close to his grandfathers; who have preceded him in death: Clyde “Skeeter” Spencer, Alvin Jackson, Thurman Winrow and one brother, Denardo Kemp. His Father Arnoeld Gene Kemp and Robin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, his Mother and Step Father, Reujena and Wingfield Grimes, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, survive him. Great-grandmother, Beulah Mae Winrow of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, grandmothers, grandma Herlena Kemp of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Thelma Jackson of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Helen Brown of California, he loved them dearly. His brothers; Arnell Gene Kemp of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Charles Gregory Kemp of Seminole, Oklahoma and Vincent Eugene Brown of Lawton, Oklahoma. Two sisters’, Veronica Kemp Gay of Phoenix, Arizona and Stacy Brown Bates of New Orleans, Louisiana. On Blu’s behalf, we know he would want to say, “ I loved my “Special”aunts and uncles and they will always be unforgettable, I love them but I always told y’all…”Remember that…” right? I Love y’all!
