Christine Camp

Christine Camp, 62 year old Ada, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma.  She was born September 7, 1954 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Sarney Jr. Camp and Elizabeth (Harjo) Camp. Christine was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma the Tallahassee Band.  She graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1972. Christine worked for Quick Charge Auto Battery in Oklahoma City for several years.  She was also a member of Central Baptism Church in Oklahoma City.  She also loved basketball, her favorite team was the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Christine also loved to sew and love to watch Kung-Fu and scary movies. Survivors include 3 sons, Israel Camp of Konawa, Oklahoma, Vidal Camp of Ada, Oklahoma, Brian Wheeler of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 4 daughters, Donella Camp of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Zenda Camp of Chandler, Arizona, Jessica Rodriguez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Terri Camp of Sulphur, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Sarney Camp of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Monrow Camp of Kansas; 3 sisters, Janie Newby of Konawa, Oklahoma, Rogenia Camp of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carmen Camp of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Christine is preceded in death by her parents Sarney and Elizabeth Camp and by 5 siblings. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Spring Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa with Rev. Leon Postoak officiating the service.  Interment will follow at the Fulkah-Harjo Cemetery in Sasakwa. A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  The body will be taken to the Church 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017. Casket Bearers will be: Zaniel Camp, Zackary Cordray, Vidal Camp, Jeremy McIntosh, Rod Harrison and Stefan Harrison. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
