Christopher Reeves “Thumper” Heathcott, 32 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, July 11, 2009 as the result of a tragic automobile accident that involved he and his family in Seminole County, Oklahoma. Chris was born October 17, 1976 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Joel Henry Heathcott and Evelyn (Wyrick) Heathcott. He was raised in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Following his graduation from Wetumka High School Chris went on to receive his Associate Degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. With a history of law enforcement in his family, Chris followed in those footsteps. He had worked at the Hughes County and Seminole County Sheriff’s offices and was also a volunteer firefighter for the Seminole Fire Department. He also worked for Seminole County, District 22 Drug Task Force and for the city of Seminole as their code enforcement officer. In 2005 Chris went to work as a patrol officer for the city of Seminole where he was currently employed. Chris married Adrian Dawn Moore on October 18, 2002 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Chris was very involved in his community being a member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge and the Seminole First Baptist Church. Chris will always be remembered for his quick wit, his off the cuff shenanigans and for his love of people and community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Chris leaves to cherish his memory his wife Adrian Heathcott of the home; one son, Jake Henry Heathcott and one daughter, (who was born following the accident) Langston Dawn Heathcott both of the home; mother, Evelyn Heathcott of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Danny Heathcott of Minnesota; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Donna Moore of Seminole, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Brandon Moore of Seminole, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother, Donna Jean Kerbow of Klondike, Texas; and a host of other family and dear friends. His father Joel Henry Heathcott preceded Chris in death in 1999. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole. Dr. Tommy Clark will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Wetumka Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be; Brandon Moore, Danny Heathcott, Timothy Dwyer, Brent Jones, Jack Thompson, Shane Marshall and Neal Roberts. Honorary Bearers will be; Seminole Police, Sheriff and Fire Departments. A Christopher Heathcott memorial fund has been set up to help the family during this difficult time.
