Chris Bowden

"You Made Me Who I Am" Christopher Michael “Chris” Bowden, 27 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life on Monday, December 27, 2010 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma following a four-wheeler accident.  He was born October 12, 1983 in San Diego, California to parents Samuel “Scott” Bowden and Sharon Renee (Thrasher) Bowden. Chris moved to Seminole County 17 years ago from Massachusetts.  He graduated from Bowlegs High School in 2002. Chris married April Dawn Carlson on June 7, 2002 in Seminole. Chris along with his father-in-law, Steve Carlson started “Steve and Son’s Inc. Carpet Cleaning & Restoration” business in Seminole. Chris was a member of Grace Community Church where he was very active in many capacities from being the sound technician to helping wherever he was needed.  He was also a member of Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife, April Dawn (Carlson) Bowden of the home; one son, Landon Alan Michael Bowden (5 yrs.) of the home; two daughters, Kaydence Gail Maree Bowden (6 yrs.) of the home and Emma Dawn Bowden (16 months) of the home; his mother and father, Scott and Sharon Bowden of Seminole, Oklahoma; mother and father-in-law, Steve and Becky Carlson of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nicholas Scott Bowden and his wife Melissa of Muldrow, Oklahoma and Justin Eugene Bowden and his wife Kari of Tuttle, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer Ramsey and Coleen Carlson both of Seminole, Oklahoma; maternal grandfather, C.A. Thrasher of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and dear friends, including three foreign exchange the families are hosting, Suhyeon Park (16 yrs.), Myung Hyun Kim (16 Yrs.) and Youngeun Park (15 yrs.). His maternal grandmother and both of his paternal grandparents precede Chris in death. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Grace Community Church located in the former Vamoosa School building (16 Miles South of Seminole on Hwy 377 then East 1 Mile).  Pastor Drew Isaacs will officiate the service. Casket Bearers will be: Justin Bowden, Nicholas Bowden, Adam Godwin, Micah Isaacs, Jonathan Isaacs and Nathan Isaacs. Honorary Bearers will be: Jonathan Starnes, Darryl Green and his Church Family of Grace Community Church. The casket will not be open, however, friends are encouraged to stop by Swearingen Funeral Home and sign the guest book.
