Charlie Jack Harjo, age 51 and a resident of Bethany, Oklahoma passed away October 4, 2024 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
A wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2024 at High Springs Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. He will be taken to the church at 4:00 p.m. from the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8th at the church, and Rev. Skip Foster and Rev. Eric Thlocco will officiate. Burial will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery. Casket bearers are William Narcomey, Zaniel Camp, Darrin Harjo, Michael Walker, Israel Camp, and Travis Scott. Honorary bearers are Uncle Jimmy Carpitcher and Neon Korn Gang.
Charlie was born March 25, 1973 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Antler Harjo and Jackie (Carpitcher) Kernel. He graduated from Byng High School, and he was a member of the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church. He attended Choctaw Vo-tech and worked as a truck driver for Ryder Trucking Industry. Charlie loved fishing, taking nature walks, and caring for his family.
He is survived by Christenia Lucas of the home; one son, Alexander Harjo of Harrah, Oklahoma; one daughter, Destiny Harjo of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister, Rhonda Narcomey of Konawa; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rhoda Lovell Camp.
