Charles David Driggers, 70, Wewoka resident, died Monday, January 18, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on October 18, 1945 to Charley Mosely Driggers and Wilma Jane   (Riley) Driggers, Waurika, Oklahoma. Charles was a longtime coach and teacher in the following schools, Fillmore, Wister, Dustin, Coleman, Bowlegs, Butler and Justice Schools south of Wewoka where he retired in 2013. During his 40 year career he won the girls state basketball championship and was runner up for several years, he also won the State Championship in Softball for 7th and 8th grade and while in high school at Woodland High School he went to the state championship. Charles graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma in 1973. Charles served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Susan Driggers on September 26, 2015. Charles was survived by his daughter Michelle Nelson of Seminole, Oklahoma, David Garrett Driggers of Seminole, Oklahoma, two grandchildren and his sisters, Ann Massengill and Jan Casey, six nieces and nephews and several other family members. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jason Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Condon Grove Cemetery near Milburn, Oklahoma with David Boggs officiating. Casket bearers will be Marty Chaney, Derek Collins, Terry  Casey, Larry Casey, Ben Nixon, Phillip Ardrey, Tracy Bush and Ken LaFevers. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home.
