Charles Dean Campbell, 73, Eufaula, Oklahoma resident, died Friday, October 27, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charles was born April 6, 1944 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Charles Arthur Campbell and Miranda “Catherine” (Partain) Campbell. Charles lived in Seminole county for 19 years and attended several public schools in Seminole county. He always said he was educated primarily in the school of “Hard Knocks” and everything he owned was well earned. Charles entered the U.S. Army in 1961 and made a career of it. He retired in 1982 at Ft. Hood, Texas. While in the service, Charles had tours in Germany, Vietnam and Korea. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he worked for Bell County Road Department in Belton, Texas, retiring in 2004. In 2005 Charles and his wife moved to a lake home at Eufaula, Oklahoma where he became active in his role as a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and he was a member of the D.A.V. Charles’ favorite hobbies were fishing and playing poker, especially with his Army buddies Ross and Doug. He later enjoyed the casinos at Eufaula, Oklahoma. His family will have special memories enjoying get togethers at the home in Eufaula, especially on holidays. He provided a lot of laughter. Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Campbell of the home, seven brothers and one sister; Donald Campbell and his wife Charlett of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jerry Campbell of Wewoka, Oklahoma, James Campbell and his wife Marcella of Sherman, Texas, Bobby Campbell of Porum, Oklahoma, Billy Campbell and his wife Lisa of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tommy Campbell and his wife Sherry of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Ricky Campbell and his wife Sandra of Seminole, Oklahoma and his sister Angela Campbell Barnes of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Rollie Rainwater of Checotah, Oklahoma and sisters-in-law Marilyn Rainwater of Seminole, Oklahoma and Wanette (Boyd) Coker of Checotah, Oklahoma, as well as numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Memorial services with Military Honors provided by Eufaula V.F.W. Post #8798 will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Wolf Cemetery, Chaplain Frank Pendelton will officiate.
