Charles Clifford “Perk" Belcher, Seminole resident, died January 18, 2016 at his home in Seminole. Charles was born January 18, 1930 in Clendenin, West Virginia, to Walter and Lula (Norwell) Belcher. Charles served in the U. S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. Charles was retired from International Harvester after 21 years as a diesel mechanic. After retirement he worked as a mechanic for a trucking company in Midwest City, Oklahoma and Thompson and Son’s Oil drilling company in Asher, Oklahoma. He was a hardworking man who took very good care of his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fixing things and working crossword puzzles. He married Betty Rhodes Belcher on May 18, 1954 and they were married for 61 years. Perk is survived by his wife Betty Belcher of Seminole, two daughters, Shelly Kurkey and her husband Donny of Rootstown, Ohio and Teresa Swofford and her husband John of Seminole, Oklahoma, a son Michael Belcher and his wife Glennda of Wewoka, Oklahoma; sisters Phyllis Boggs of Cleveland, Ohio, Betty Woods of Fallingrock, West Virginia, Linda Woods of Cottontree, West Virginia, Joy Beirne of Clendenin, West Virginia and Annie Gandee of Clendenin, West Virginia, two brothers, Don Belcher of Deerfield, Ohio and Bill Belcher of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandchildren, Mitchell Belcher, Vernon Belcher, Amber Marley, Kevin Kurkey, Kyle Marley, Jeff Kurkey and Marissa Williams; great grandchildren, Taylor Young, Mayce LeForce and Donald LeForce. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry Lee, Cecil Edward, Robert, James Herman and Clyde Emerson, a sister Maudie Mae, and children Tom Belcher and Jonathon Belcher.
