Charlene Keiser

Charlene Yvonne Barker Keiser, 79, died peacefully in her home in Houston, TX on November 28, 2013. Charlene was born September 5, 1934 in Shawnee, OK to Audrey and James Barker.  Charlene graduated top of her class from Seminole, Ok High School.  As a young lady, Charlene fell in love with her soul mate James “Jim” Thomas Keiser.  Jim and Charlene were wed on September 3, 1952. Charlene is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jim Keiser ; Daughter: Vicki Lynn DiMayo (Michael DiMayo) Las Vegas, NV; Son: (James) Keith Keiser (Derinda FitzGerald Keiser) of Cypress, TX; 3  grandchildren: (James) Lee Kirk (Lynn W. Kirk), Las Vegas, NV; Derielle Keiser and James David Keiser, Cypress, TX and 2 great-grandsons, Brady Kirk and Ryan Kirk, Las Vegas, NV. Though Charlene was an only child she considered her husband’s siblings her siblings: Bob & Patsy Keiser, Glenpool, Ok; Carol and David Smith, Eufaula, Ok and Eddie and Linda Keiser, College Station, TX. Jim and Charlene retired to Lake Eufaula, Ok from Guymon, Ok.  They were always surrounded by family and friends doing fun activities such as boating, playing cards, and square dancing.  Charlene also loved to the play the piano. Charlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eufaula, OK, Red Hat Society, FLEAS and enjoyed volunteering with God’s Helping Hands. Viewing will be Monday, December 2nd, 6-8pm at Swearingen Funeral Home.  Charlene will be laid to final rest graveside at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd in Resthaven Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charlene Keiser’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
