Channon Rae Harjo-Spencer

Channon Rae Harjo-Spencer, 49 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  She was born June 17, 1968 in Shawnee to parents Samsochee Harjo and Imogene (Little) Harjo. Channon was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and listening to music.  She was also a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Survivors include her companion, Randolph Larney of Seminole, Oklahoma; four sons, Gilbert Cole of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Cody Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, Trey Spencer of Seminole, Oklahoma, Sampson Spencer of Seminole, Oklahoma; three daughters, Alicia Cole of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Sidney Spencer of Seminole, Oklahoma, Rv’fo Spencer of Seminole, Oklahoma; three brothers, Percy Harjo of Antlers, Oklahoma, Bruce Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Nathaniel Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma; four sisters, Pat Jackson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mildred Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, Delois Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, Renae Larney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her former husband, Sam Spencer of Seminole, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Channon was preceded in death by her mother, Imogene Harjo, father, Samsochee Harjo, one sister, Lula Strayhorn, one niece, Donnell Carter and by one nephew, Isiah Harjo. Channon will be taken to the home for visitation at 1205 Gessel St. in Seminole until Monday morning. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Mike Svitak officiating the service. Casket Bearers will be: Joseph Harjo, Jonathan Harjo, Pete Harjo, Todd Hyslope, Allen Jackson, Mykel Cole, Russell Bear, Stephen Spencer and Marshall Tiger. Honorary Bearers will be: Bruce Harjo, Percy Harjo, Nathaniel Harjo, Cody Harjo, Trey Spencer, Sampson Spencer, Gilbert Cole, Po Larney and Brian Spencer.
